Where does this data come from?
Every day we ping thousands of websites. Each web page gives us loads of wonderful information back. We can see what country a resource comes from , the transfer size of each resource and how much CO2 each site produces. We also gather other helpful metrics like Performance, Best Practice, Accessibility and SEO from Google Lighthouse.
The table below is an aggregated view of all these metrics.
What does this tell us about transfer size?
We can see that the average website size on EcoPing is 0null which is 0 times smaller than the HTTP archive average in 2023. Interestingly our dataset is much smaller than the 12 million so hope this would come down with more sites on the platform. Or, we're targeting companies with larger than average sites.
Note: We've taken the middle 90th quantile and have therefore ignore the top 5% and bottom 5% of score
